Making it easy for your family to get started. We’ve answered the most frequently asked questions about the Knights Academy below.

Hills Knights Academy welcomes players aged 6-16 years old across multiple age-specific programmes (U6, U7, U8, U9, U10, U11, U12, U13, U14, U15, U16). We offer mixed sessions for most age groups, gender-specific sessions for girls’ development, and specialist goalkeeper training. All sessions are structured with age-appropriate skill development in mind, ensuring every player receives coaching tailored to their developmental stage.

No it doesn’t. Your Knights Academy membership is separate from seasonal club football and is a training program offering additional development opportunities beyond the standard weekly club training. If your child enjoys their academy experience and is not registered with another club, and wishes to register for the regular season, we’d love to have them — but there’s no obligation.

Not at all. The Knights Academy is open to all players. You don’t need to be registered with the Hills Knights Football Club to participate. Whether your child plays for another local club, plays school football only, or is just starting their football journey, they’re welcome at our Academy sessions. 

The Knights Academy offers additional development opportunities beyond weekly club training:

Club Training (Registration-based):

  • Usually, one team training session per week, facilitated by your team coach
  • Weekend game days
  • Equipment provided

Knights Academy (Pay-as-you-go):

  • Separate program with flexible booking
  • Small-group coaching (maximum 1:12 ratio)
  • Multiple sessions available weekly
  • Individual skill development focus
  • No trials or team assignments
  • Choose your own schedule and frequency

Many players participate in both — using the Academy sessions for additional skill development whilst playing for their club team on weekends.

All Knights Academy coaches hold a minimum Football Australia C License certification with Working With Children Checks (WWCC). Our coaching team brings diverse experience across grassroots, representative, and semi-professional football, with specialists in technical development, tactical coaching, striker training, youth development, and female football. We maintain a maximum 1:12 coach-to-player ratio to ensure every child receives expert individual attention and feedback during sessions.

All Knights Academy sessions are held at Masonic Oval (Balcombe Heights Estate) or Bella Vista Oval — the familiar home ground of Hills Knights FC in the Hills District.

What to bring:

  • Football boots or trainers
  • Shin pads (compulsory)
  • Water bottle
  • Weather-appropriate clothing

We provide:

  • Footballs and all training equipment
  • Qualified coaches
  • Small-sided pitch setup
  • Safe, supervised environment

Players should arrive 10 minutes before their session start time to allow for check-in and warm-up.

Yes. Each child requires their own individual account with separate credit packs.

Here’s how to set up accounts for multiple children:

  1. Create a parent/guardian account (if you haven’t already)
  2. Log in to your account
  3. Open your profile
  4. Click on the ‘My Family’ tab
  5. Click on ‘Add a child account’
  6. Fill in each child’s details and click ‘Create Account’
  7. Purchase separate credit packs for each child as needed

Whilst each child needs their own account, you can manage all bookings from your single parent login for convenience.

Booking is simple:

  1. Log in to your Hills Knights Academy account
  2. View the timetable and select the session(s) you want
  3. Choose which child will attend (if you have multiple children)
  4. Confirm your booking

Credits are deducted immediately upon confirmation of the booking. We recommend booking at least 48 hours in advance to secure your preferred session times.

Prefer mobile booking? Download the free Glofox Member App (iOS & Android) to book sessions on-the-go. Search for ‘Glofox’ in your app store, then find ‘Hills Knights Academy’ within the app.

Yes, but cancellation timing matters:

12 hours before your session:

  • Full credit refunded to your account automatically
  • Rebook for another session at no cost

Less than 12 hours before the session:

To cancel or reschedule:

  1. Log in to your account
  2. Go to ‘My Bookings’
  3. Select the session you want to cancel
  4. Click ‘Cancel Booking’ (if 12+ hours before session)

Expiry Extensions:
Credits cannot be extended beyond their validity period.

Refunds:
We cannot refund unused credits. All credit pack purchases are final and non-refundable.

Planning tips:

  • Monitor your credit balance and expiry dates in your account dashboard
  • Book sessions in advance to use credits before expiry
  • Purchase pack sizes that match your intended training frequency:
    • 5 sessions (3 months): Casual participation, 1-2x monthly
    • 10 sessions (4 months): Weekly training
    • 15 sessions (4 months): Twice weekly
    • 20 sessions (5 months): 2-3 times weekly

Start with a smaller pack if you’re unsure of your child’s commitment level.

We accept payment via credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express)

All payments are processed securely through our online booking system. You’ll receive an email confirmation with a receipt immediately after purchase.

Unfortunately not. Credit packs are linked to individual child accounts and cannot be shared between siblings.

What this means for families:

  • Each child needs their own credit pack purchase
  • If you have 2 children training weekly, you’ll need to purchase separate packs for each
  • Take advantage of our larger packs (15 or 20 sessions) for maximum per-session savings ($12-$12.50 vs. $13.50)

Even with separate packs, Hills Knights Academy remains significantly more affordable than commercial academies ($12/session vs. $70-100/session).

Academy cancellations: If we cancel a session due to weather, ground closures, or other unforeseen circumstances:

  • You’ll receive notification via email and SMS at least 2 hours before the session
  • Your credit will be refunded to your account
  • You can then rebook for another available session at no cost

Player illness/absence: If your child can’t attend a booked session:

  • Follow our standard cancellation policy (12-hour notice for credit refund)

We monitor weather conditions closely and prioritise player safety. Check your email/SMS before heading to sessions during uncertain weather.
