Celebrating 50 Years
50 Years of football
Founded in 1974, Hills Knights Football Club, originally St. Michael’s Soccer Club, emerged from Baulkham Hills with humble beginnings on St. Michael’s Primary’s fields. Initially eyed as a rugby team, lack of interest saw it morph into a football club under the NSW Churches Association. With a distinct purple and white jersey still celebrated at Bella Vista Oval Clubhouse, our journey kicked off.By 1975, we celebrated our first win in the Under 8s.
The early 2000s brought a name tweak to include ‘Knights’ and a fresh badge, marking our presence in the Church league. 2008 was a game-changer; we ventured into the Granville and District Soccer Association to spur growth and local rivalry. 2009 introduced our Over 35’s men’s team, still strong on the field. The club’s evolution soared in 2015, welcoming our first Girls Only U12s team and, by 2024, boasting 14 women’s teams. Reflecting our broader reach, we rebranded to Hills Knights Football Club. That year, we also joined the new Sydney Hills Football Association, led by our life member, Craig Gough.2016 was a landmark year with Masonic Ovals joining Bella Vista as our home, fostering our growth and community spirit.
A crown jewel in our club is the AllAbilities program, starting with enthusiastic Saturdays at Bella Vista and expanding to more frequent sessions and a summer program at Masonic Ovals, underscoring our commitment to inclusivity and the joy of football.Â
